FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- For the third time this week, Fairfield County has to contend with accumulating snow and wintry weather through Thursday.

The latest round of snow moved into the area overnight.

Snow will remain during the day on Thursday through 4 p.m. with temperatures expected to drop into the 20s during the day. A total of 3 to 6 inches of accumulation is possible, with the higher amounts farther south.

A winter weather advisory, issued by the National Weather Service, remains in effect until 7 p.m.

Due to the forecast, the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Southern Fairfield County.

Temperatures will remain bitterly cold Thursday night with a low of 8 degrees and wind-chill factors near zero.

The sun will return Friday, but temperatures will only reach the low 20s.

Saturday and Sunday will be warmer with temperatures in the high 30s.
