Fairfield Will Get Soaked On A Windy, Wet Wednesday

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — Several days of sunny skies will come to an abrupt end in Fairfield County on Wednesday with wind, rain and fog in the mix.

The latest forecasts call for three-quarters to an inch of rain during the day, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures will be warm, with a high in the mid 50s.

After a chance of drizzles in the morning, rain will become heavy after about noon with wind gusts up to 30 mph. Localized flooding is possible.

The rain will continue through Wednesday night and overnight into Thursday, with the chance of precipitation at 80 percent. Estimates are for another half-inch to three-quarters of an inch of rain overnight. Temperatures will remain in the mid-40s.

Patchy fog is expected to roll in around 3 a.m. Thursday, with the chance of showers dropping to 30 percent on Thursday before clearing out entirely during the day under partly sunny skies.

Daytime highs will be about 45 degrees, while the evening low will be near 30 degrees.
