Heat And Sun Continues In Fairfield Before Storms Hit This Weekend

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Sunny skies and heat are expected to continue Friday and Saturday in Fairfield County, before things should cool off with the arrival of heavy rain and storms this weekend.

Friday is predicted to be sunny with a high near 92, according to the National Weather Service. Humidity levels will be noticeably drier than yesterday, especially along the coast. Friday night will be mostly clear, with a low around 69.

One more hot day is expected on Saturday, which will be mostly sunny with a high near 90, with much more comfortable dewpoints. There will be increasing chances for showers and thunderstorm activity late Saturday into Saturday night, when heavy showers and thunderstorms are likely. 

Between a tenth and a quarter of an inch of rain is possible Saturday night, with higher amounts possible during thunderstorms. Wind gusts of 58 mph are possible, along with frequent lightning. The low will be around 69 Saturday night.

Rain is expected to continue into Sunday and Monday. Showers are likely and a thunderstorm is possible on Sunday, when the high will be near 80. The chance of precipitation is 60 percent. The rain will continue into the night, with a low around 67.

On Monday there is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Otherwise the day will be mostly cloudy with a high near 80. Monday night will see showers, with a low around 67.
