FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- The National Weather Service is warning that areas of Fairfield County could see some flooding Friday as a result of heavy rain.

There could potentially be some minor flooding in low lying areas Friday afternoon. There is also a marginal to slight risk for flash flooding. Friday afternoon is expected to continue to see rain and possibly a thunderstorm. The chance of precipitation is 100 percent. The temperature will remain steady at around 52, and there will be an east wind of 15 to 17 mph.

Rain and thunderstorms will continue into Friday night, mostly before 3 am., then rain is likely. There will also be patchy fog. The temperature will rise to around 59 by 9 p.m., and the southeast wind will be 9 to 14 mph.

Showers are likely Saturday morning, mainly before 9 a.m., and there will be patchy fog before noon. Otherwise the day will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 65. The south wind will be 10 to 16 mph. The chance of precipitation is 60 percent. Saturday night will see a 40 percent chance of showers, but will otherwise be mostly cloudy with a low around 47.

Sunday will see a 30 percent chance of showers, and the high will be near 59. Sunday night will be mostly cloudy with a low around 40.
