Memorial Day Washout? Here's The Holiday Forecast, Fairfield

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — It's just a day away from the unofficial start of summer, and the weather forecast for Memorial Day is a soggy one for Fairfield County.

There is an 80 percent chance of rain for Monday, which could spoil plans for parades and barbecues on the holiday, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather will be better — if cloudy — on Sunday, with a high temperature near 67 degrees. 

But by Sunday night, there is a 30 percent chance of light rain, mainly after 3 a.m. It will be mostly cloudy, with temps dropping to about 54 degrees. 

On Monday, Memorial Day, there will be showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 2 p.m., with a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 2 and 5 p.m. The high temperature will be only 62 degrees. 

On Tuesday, it will be partly sunny with a chance of showers and a high temperatures of 70 degrees.
