FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Town of Fairfield's Clam Clinic will be held on Saturday, June 11, from 10 a.m. to noon at Sasco Hill Beach.
This free event is open only to Fairfield residents. It will be held rain or shine. All town residents are welcome to participate -- including children.
Experience the natural shellfish resources that Fairfield and Long Island Sound have to offer. Learn clamming techniques, harvest clams and keep what is caught. Enjoy some local chowder.
This event is sponsored by the Town of Fairfield Shellfish Commission, which protects shellfish habitat and helps increase shellfishing opportunities in Fairfield waters in accordance with the Fairfield Shellfish Management Plan.
No clamming permits are required for the clinic but permits and rakes will be available for purchase for future use (cash or check only).
In case of inclement weather, call the Shellfish Hotline at 203-256-3074 to ensure that the Sasco Beach Shellfish Bed is open.
