Asphalt Shingles

This cost effective roof is most common for residential homes, covering over 80% of the market. While they're not the most durable option, Asphalt shingles are made from recyclable materials making them eco-friendly. The appearance is more subtle than other shingles, but they are still available in three different options.

Metal

Investing in a metal roof may be one of the smarter choices when considering longevity. Metal roofs can last as long or longer than any roof on the market, and while the price may reflect their durability, maintenance is less of a priority. Metal roofs are compromised of lightweight metal sheets and have a very distinct look, tailored to a certain type of home.

Clay

Made from natural clay, the tiles of a clay roof can be very heavy and tough, but they have the durability to last a long time. Made up of what are often referred to as "Spanish tiles," these roofs are one of the most expensive options and can be more difficult to build as they require reinforced framing for support.

Plastic

This roof is molded from plastic polymer material and crafted to resemble slate or wood roof finishes. They are low maintenance and cost effective, making this roof another popular choice.

Slate

Slate is an uncommon roof material but has a niche for those who admire a traditional look. Made from a natural slate rock, this type of roof is very heavy and expensive.

Kurt Stowell and the KRS Roofing experts are familiar with all kinds of roofs and can make sure you choose the one that best fits your home. For more information about KRS Roofing, visit them in Easton.
