Guests can listen to music, enjoy a drink (or two), all while celebrating Irish heritage on the Fairfield University Campus. Guests are invited to kick off the celebration by enjoying a Guinness in a commemorative glass or participate in a whisky tasting event.

Parents aren't the only ones allowed to have fun; the children's tent will have activities all weekend long, including a scavenger hunt, a magic show, Irish dancing performances and tutorials, plus more. Under the event's main tent families can enjoy music and dancing from both Ireland and America. The festival has showcased traditional Irish artists since its inception in 1988.

Plus, what's an Irish Festival without some friendly competition? The weekend will feature several Gaelic football games, from a U8 tournament to a senior game, as well as the opportunity for children to experience hurling, a traditional Irish sport. For those looking to try their hand at baking, there will be an Irish Soda Bread contest on Sunday afternoon, with the winner taking home a grand prize.

As part of the festivities, Fairfield University's President, Father Jeffrey von Arx, will be honored with the “Irish Cultural Award” and will be presenting three high school students with scholarship awards courtesy of FEILE, an Irish cultural organization.

The festival will be held on Friday, June 17 from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Saturday, June 18 from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Sunday, June 19 from 12:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Admission is $12 a day or $20 for a weekend pass. For more information about the festival visit click here.
