The new event is a European-style outdoor market featuring pop-up shops from local retailers. Fairfield will host the first installment of the event on June 1, but the organizers plan to set up shops in other towns in Connecticut in the future.
The vendors coming to the Fairfield PopShop include local artists, clothing designers, craftsmen and chefs. Among those scheduled to appear are Rachel’s Rags, Blue Buffalo Company, Wandering Bird jewelry, Eclectic Settings home décor and A Little Square. A partial list of the vendors expected to attend is available on the event’s website.
Each PopShop Market installment will also feature a “Bar Car” with drinks from local craft breweries and wineries. A collection of local food trucks are also expected to show up for the event. For example, Fairfield’s shop will have beer from Stamford’s Half Full Brewery, and a visit from Fairfield’s The Local Meatball.
“We aim to provide a unique experience like no other pop up shop,” the event’s website says.
The event will run Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will be based out of the Fairfield Theatre Company’s parking lot, at 70 Sanford St., Fairfield. Admission to the main market is free, and $5 for the Bar Car. For more information, visit the PopShop Market website.
