Approximately 75 community leaders gathered for the ceremony. SilverSource is a leader in supporting older adults and their families and advocating on their behalf.
“This is a major milestone in our 108-year history of service in the community,” said Kathleen Bordelon, executive director of SilverSource. “We started this initiative three years ago, and we followed through with a strategic plan that we developed with Harvard Business School of Community Partners. In addition to changing our name in 2015, we conducted assessments to understand the needs of our constituents; we streamlined our programming, and our move to larger offices was simply the next step in our evolution.”
The new offices position SilverSource to manage the unprecedented growth of the older adult population.
SilverSource will host a community-wide event on Thursday at its second annual Autumn Breakfast, titled "Live-Love-Laugh: Creating Livable Communities." The event will take place at the Italian Center of Stamford, from 7 to 9:30 a.m.
Attendees will hear experts detail the challenges facing communities as they prepare for the rise of the over-60 population, and will share innovative solutions some farsighted communities are already implementing.

“It’s a great community because of people who make this a livable city," said Stamford Mayor David R. Martin. "One of the things that I am truly blessed with as a mayor is a number of really strong nonprofit organizations, and certainly SilverSource is one of those."
“SilverSource is a very important asset to the community, and as we all age, the services they provide are more important than ever," added State Sen. Carlo Leone (D-Stamford). "SilverSource is positioned to be a leader in the community."
