Boat Swiped from Fairfield's Lake Hills Area

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – A rowboat was stolen from Fairfield’s lakeside sometime during the Memorial Day weekend. The Lake Hills Association reported the theft Wednesday afternoon.

The boat was left on the shores of Samp Mortar Reservoir Lake Hills’ Beach 2, which is located off Samp Mortar Drive. It was described as an 8-foot fiberglass rowboat. Anyone with information should contact the Fairfield Police at 203-254-4800.

? A purse was stolen out of a car in Fairfield Wednesday. The owner told police she left her car unlocked outside the Fitness Edge on Kings Highway. It contained a Verizon cell phone, credit cards and personal information. The total value of the theft was estimated at $130.

? A cell phone was reported stolen from the Fairfield Woods Branch Library Tuesday afternoon. Its owner told police he left his Motorola Droid unattended near the library’s computers, and when he returned it was gone. A witness told police he saw a white man in his 50s sit near the computer and reach in that area. Anyone with information should contact the Fairfield police at 203-254-4800.

? A burglary was reported at the Fairfield Motor Inn early Wednesday morning. The hotel’s clerk told police money was taken from the cash register at about 4 a.m.. Video surveillance showed the suspect was a white or Hispanic man wearing a white T-shirt.
