Schools across Fairfield County are closed Thursday due to icy road conditions.
Light snow could linger in the evening hours, with minimal accumulations before skies gradually clear.
Friday will be sunny and cold with temperatures of only about 23 degrees.
Saturday will be partly sunny and slightly warmer with a high near freezing.
The warming trend will continue Sunday into Monday with temperatures reaching 40 degrees and above. Temperatures could get close to 50 degrees by mid-week next week.
