FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Margaret "Maggie" Vetto died in her Fairfield home on July 12 at the age of 99.
The only thing Vetto enjoyed more than cooking was telling a great story and entertaining her family and friends. She was a regular contributor to charitable organizations, including Boys Town, a community support foundation that assists struggling families.
Vetto is survived by her three sons, Jack and Robert Vetto of Florida and Edward Vetto of Connecticut; her honorary “daughter” Carole Vetto of Florida; grandchildren Kimberly Carbone of Hawaii, Gary Vetto of Florida, Cassie Bourgeois of Connecticut, Nicole Vetto of Florida; great-grandson Dylan Bourgeois; brothers Frank DeAngelo of Rhode Island, Mike DeAngelo of Pennsylvania and Guy DeAngelo of California; as well as many nieces and nephews -- including her niece Donna DeAngelo of California.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Basil Vetto Sr. in 1963.
The family will inter Vetto next to her husband in a private ceremony at Lawncroft Cemetery in Fairfield.
