A weekslong investigation into a man allegedly dealing drugs out of his Fairfield County apartment led to the arrest of a Danbury man who police say was trafficking out of his home.

Neil Hannequin was arrested by members of the Danbury Police Department’s Special Investigations Division on Tuesday, Aug. 28, following a citizen’s complaint about him selling drugs from his Coalpit Hill Road apartment.

According to police, “investigators corroborated the complaints through different investigative techniques,” and a search warrant was issued to search Hannequin, 62, and his residence.

Police said that at approximately 2 p.m. on Tuesday, investigators apprehended Hannequin as he was parking his car outside his apartment. The subsequent search of his home found that he was in possession of drugs and cash, which investigators said was the result of drug sales.

Hannequin was arrested on Aug. 28 and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, two counts of possession of a controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a prohibited place and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held in lieu of cash bond and is due to be arraigned.
