FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Officers arrested an “extremely intoxicated” woman Friday, after she created a disturbance at a local convenience store and yelled and banged on a neighbor’s door, police said.

The manager at Cumberland Farms on Kings Highway East called police around 5:30 p.m. to report a woman in the store was swearing and starting arguments with his customers, police said.

He said the woman, later identified as Melinda Hrabstock, 37, of Pioneer Lane, was “extremely intoxicated” and had fallen in the store before leaving in a white Hyundai Elantra, police said. He gave police the license plate number.

About 20 minutes later, officers were called to Bloomfield Drive on a report that a woman had been banging on a neighbor’s door and yelling, police said. The neighbor said he didn’t know the woman well, but said he had had problems with her vandalizing his car, police said.

Having viewed surveillance video at Cumberland Farms, officers determined the same woman was involved in both incidents, police said.

Hrabstock, who has two prior arrests for driving under the influence, was arrested and charged with simple trespass and second-degree breach of peace, police said.

She was released on a promise to appear in court on Oct. 23.

Two hours later, another neighbor called to report Hrabstock and someone else were outside her Pioneer Lane home having a loud argument.

When officers arrived, no one would answer the door, so they left an electronic infraction for creating a public disturbance in the mailbox, police said.
