Fairfield Deli Staffer Loses Week's Pay In Theft From Parked Jeep

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Fairfield deli employee lost his week's pay Saturday, when someone stole an envelope of cash from his Jeep Wrangler on Black Rock Turnpike, police said.

A staffer from the Country Cow Deli stashed an envelope containing $545 in the glove box of the unlocked car before parking at White Birch Plaza to go to a liquor store shortly before 5 p.m., police said. 

He was gone for only minutes, but he said the cash was gone when he got home, police said
