FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A 19-year-old Fairfield man posted $125,000 bond and was ordered to wear a monitoring ankle bracelet, after he was charged with viciously beating and strangling his ex-girlfriend Friday, leaving her with serious facial trauma, police said.
A Bridgeport Superior Court judge on Friday quintupled the original bond on Christian Ghiorzi, of Pope Street, when he appeared on charges of second-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree strangulation, second-degree unlawful restraint and disorderly conduct, police said.
Fairfield officers responding to a medical call on Friday, found a female victim with injuries sustained during a fight with ex-boyfriend, police said.
The couple had been out with friends that evening and, when they returned to Ghiorzi’s home the domestic assault took place, police said.
The victim’s parents called police and she was transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center, according to news reports.
Bond was originally set for $25,000.
The case is still under investigation.
