FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Fairfield police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two men who stole credit cards from a couple in Fairfield and used them to buy $2,000 in gift cards at Target in Trumbull in August, police said.
Police said the credit cards were stolen from a woman and her husband on August 16 at Trader Joe’s on Black Rock Turnpike.
A short time later, the two male suspects used the stolen cards to buy $2,000 in gift cards at a self-checkout at the Target on Main Street in Trumbull, police said.
The men left the store and came back about 20 minutes later and bought an iPad with one of the gift cards, police said. The other gift card was used at Target stores in Massachusetts and New York.
Anyone with information regarding the thefts or the suspects is asked to call the Fairfield Police Detective Bureau at 203-254-4840 or Text-a-Tip to CRIMES (274637).
