The incident took place around 8:30 p.m. Thursday when a woman called 911 to report that her husband had just shot the person at their home, said Av Harris, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police.

The 22-year-old man apparently left the area, and then called the police himself around 15 minutes later to say he had been shot, police said.

Officers rushed to the area in the 100 block of Rainbow Road in Bridgeport and began looking for the man, who was not at the area he told 911 dispatchers. The man was located around 15 minutes later on Barnum Ave., Harris said.

Harris said the man was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are investigating the alleged intrusion and shooting incident.
