A house fire in Darien on Thursday caused heavy damage to the kitchen area of the home.
The fire, which began around 3:20 p.m. at 9 Beach Drive, was contained to the kitchen by the quick work of all three of the city's fire department's, said Noroton Assistant Fire Chief Brendan Keane.
According to Keane, the majority of the damage remained in the kitchen, with the rest of the home receiving some smoke damage.
"Great teamwork by all," Keane said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
