A Fairfield County man driving a work van was busted with alleged heroin and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop in Greenwich.

Officers from the Greenwich Police Department on patrol at approximately 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 5 stopped Norwalk resident Johan Wallenberg, 42, near the intersection of Delavan Avenue and Frontage Road. During the subsequent stop, it was determined that Wallenberg was allegedly in possession of narcotics.

According to police, “the narcotics were consistent in packaging and appearance as heroin.” During a search of the white work van, a small black straw was found, which had “a white powdery residue on the inside that its consistent with a straw used to ingest drugs nasally.”

Wallenberg was arrested at the scene and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal possession of narcotics.

Following his processing at Greenwich Police Headquarters, Wallenberg was released and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Nov. 19 to respond to the charges.
