Fairfield Democrats Announce Candidates For All But RTM

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The nomination of candidates to run for office for Fairfield's Democratic Party are almost completely set -- the only thing missing are those running for the Representative Town Meeting. 

Current RTM member Heather Dean was nominated for the Fairfield Board of Education by the Democratic Party on Thursday night.

The party decided to wait on nominating the RTM candidates until after a ruling was made about the districts, said Marilyn Miller, vice chairwoman of the Fairfield Democratic Town Committee. The final nominations for the RTM will take place Tuesday, July 23.

For the Board of Education, the Democrats nominated current RTM member Heather Dean, Donna Karnal, Ken Lee and Mark Patten for the open seats.

The party has nominated incumbents Robert Stone for a six-year term on the Board of Finance and Catherine Albin for a four-year term. 

Newcomers William Burke and Jim Kennelly were nominated for four-year terms on the Planning and Zoning Commission. Andrew Graceffa was nominated for a two-year term. Mark Corcoran was nominate as an alternate, and James Quinn for a fill vacancy for the board.

Currently an alternate on the Zoning Board of Appeals, Ed Cheffetz was nominated for a four-year term. Linda Snelham Moore was nominated for a two-year term.

Kathryn Gussen was nominated for a four-year term on the Board of Assessment Appeals. joined by Dan Green for a two-year term. For candidates for constable -- Charlene Lebo, Ed Cheffetz, Eugene Short and Ruth Smey -- were nominated.
