Fairfield Republican Nominees Largely Uncontested, Few Upsets

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Fairfield's Republican Town Committee met Tuesday night to vote on their candidates for November's general election.

There were three contested races this year, the rest of the positions remained unchallenged. 

For the RTM District 1, all four incumbents Eric Sundman, Michael Herley, Gaylord Meyer and Joesph “Jay” Lipp, kept their seats. They were joined by newcomer John Donovan.

On the Board of Finance incumbent Mary LeClerc kept her seat. But fellow incumbent Robert Bellitto lost the caucus vote to newcomer David Becker.

Two newcomers, Eileen Liu-McCormack and John Llewellyn were picked to run for the Board of Education ousting incumbent Pam Iacono.
