Millington Re-Elected Chairman Of Fairfield Town GOP Committee

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Fairfield Republican Town Committee has re-elected Chairman James Millington.

Newly elected members of the Fairfield RTC unanimously re-elected Millington to serve a two-year term, according to a press release. In addition to "expanding the Republican majority on the Representative Town Meeting and sweeping every other open seat in the November election, Millington shepherded sweeping changes to the RTC through strategic messaging, effective recruiting and aggressive fundraising efforts," said a press release. 

“In 2013, we ran a campaign focused on what we believed was the message that the silent majority of residents in Town," said Millington. "We called for sweeping changes at every level of government. We called for an end to the ever increasing rate of taxation in Fairfield. The past election results underscored that our assumptions were correct, our message was overwhelmingly supported and the push for reforms have begun.

"The days of proposed tax increases over 6 percent are over. However, critical governmental reforms still need to be implemented and that can’t happen until the Republicans retake the First Selectman’s office. That will be a top priority moving forward."

RTC Vice Chairman Steve Elworthy was also re-elected to serve a two-year term. Patricia Lucas was elected as secretary. Elworthy served as selectman of Fairfield for four years and formerly served as the RTC Chairman.
