This initiative involves fathers and other father figures getting involved in school activities for one day a year.
These activities may include participating at recess or helping in the classroom with student projects. Recently, more than 80 dads visited the school to hear Bobby Valentine, former manager of the Mets and Red Sox, speak about mentoring children and building their confidence. Valentine, who currently is an athletic director at Sacred Heart University, discussed his experiences as a coach and what he has learned about motivating people to be their best. The Colony Grill, The Pantry and Shake Shack donated food items for this event. Beverages were provided by Stop and Shop as well as Costco.
