Norristown Native Star Student-Athlete Dies In Crash On US Rt. 22
Tonee Ellis a star wrestler at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, died following a car crash on Tuesday, Aug. 1, state police said.
Troopers believe the Norristown native was driving west on US Route 22 in Perr County when his car left the roadway and hit a tree, catching fire.
The 22-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a state police report.
Born in 2001, Ellis was a graduate of Methacton High School in Worcester Township, where he launched his athletic career, loved ones said.

Philadelphia's Jeffrey Cheung, 34, Dies 2 Months After Cancer Diagnosis
The death of Philadelphia's Jeffrey Cheung has devasted several communities.
The 34-year-old Central High School grad was diagnosed with Stage 4 gastric adenocarcinoma in May 2023.
Jeff made the decision to transfer to hospice care at home, where he died peacefully on July 25, according to a GoFundMe page.
He is survived by his parents Linda and Tin, his brother James, sister Janette, brother-in-law Eric, and fiancée Tram.
As of Friday, July 28, the GoFundMe page had raised more than $45,600.
