Westport Police Department's Holiday Toy Drive Begins Friday WESTPORT, Conn. — The Westport Police Department will make the season a little brighter for kids in need with their annual Holiday Toy Drive. Hosted by the Local Union 2080 and the Police Benevolent Association, the program runs from Dec. 1 through 17 at several locations around town. The organization is accepting new, unopened and unwrapped toys as well as cash donations. Thousands of toys donated to the program will be distributed throughout Fairfield County and beyond. The family of Debbie Walls, a Newtown resident who was a teacher in the Monroe Public Schools for more than 30 years, made the donation to the nonprofit which serves victims of domestic and sexual violence and child abuse in six Fairfield County communities. In the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving, the Princeton Street pantry received large food donations from Bridgeport’s St. Ann Church, Unquowa School in Fairfield and the Torch Club of Wakeman Boys & Girls Club.
